Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehab services in terms of intensity of care, for the reason that individual is able to keep their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of having to remain in a rehabilitation center while receiving treatment services. While this may seem perfect it might not provide the much needed change of environment than many people in treatment need to experience a successful rehabilitation.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to the problems that their impairment impose on them. While detection of the problem can often be difficult among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL along with other assistance services designed for them when substance abuse treatment is necessary. Other than ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening equipment and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired people are receiving the support they need in alcohol and drug rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a drawback but people actually have a much more leverage simply because they can select whichever center they want without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many men and women face. Likewise, treatment centers will often offer payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some treatment programs will take Medicaid in the event the individual is unable to self pay or present some other form of private medical health insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of centers, and in this instance individuals may choose to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to cover a more quality rehabilitation facility which will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug rehab center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehab at drug rehabilitation programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in setting up the person's treatment plan. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some sort of alcohol and drug treatment service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Individuals may have to participate in an alcohol and drug treatment facility that is within their network of providers and there can be other restrictions such as how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose a quality program they like and consult with a rehab counselor to ascertain if their insurance will take care of it.
