Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehabilitation solutions regarding intensity of care, as the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of needing to be in a rehab program while undergoing rehab services. While this may appear ideal it might not provide the much needed change of surroundings than a lot of people in rehab require to experience a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when someone's insurance won't pay for the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may appear like a drawback but individuals actually have a much more leverage due to the fact they can decide on whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many men and women face. Likewise, rehabilitation facilities will frequently provide payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help out with establishing the person's treatment plan. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't an option. If someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might be eligible for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only within the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug and alcohol rehab service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug treatment facilities. Individuals might have to participate in a drug and alcohol treatment center which is in their network of providers and there can be other limitations including the length of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent program they prefer and meet with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain drug abuse rehab services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are all covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some restrictions concerning the length of time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is permitted, and every one of these questions can be answered prior to starting rehabilitation so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the rehab center of choice.
