ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse as a result of problems their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this problem can be difficult among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL as well as other assistance services readily available for them when substance abuse rehabilitation is necessary. Apart from ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening equipment and captioned video resources so that deaf and hearing impaired people are getting the support they require in drug and alcohol rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance isn't going to pay for the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover some of it. In these situations, it may seem like a disadvantage but people really have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many people encounter. Likewise, treatment centers will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation programs accept Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present some other type of private medical insurance. Medicaid may possibly cover outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals might want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to pay for a more quality treatment center that will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehabilitation at alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment when the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in setting up the person's treatment plan. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. If someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they may be eligible for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will cover both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only in the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some sort of alcohol and drug treatment service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation centers. Individuals might have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehab program that is within their network of providers and there may be other limitations like the length of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can pick an excellent program they like and speak with a rehabilitation counselor to determine if their insurance will cover it.
