Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the low end of the spectrum of rehab solutions with regards to level of care, for the reason that individual can keep their lifestyle in several ways without the commitment of having to stay in a treatment center while receiving rehab services. Even if this might seem perfect it will not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than many people in rehab need to experience a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is needed when a person's insurance won't cover the entire cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for some of it. In these instances, it may seem like a drawback but individuals actually have a much more leverage due to the fact they can choose whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many people encounter. In addition, treatment programs will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain treatment centers accept Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present another kind of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehab inside a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals might want to investigate the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality treatment program that will produce better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehab at drug rehabilitation programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in establishing the person's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. When someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could qualify for state insurance, they can talk with their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only inside the state which provides the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some kind of drug treatment service including outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation facilities. Individuals may have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility which is in their network of providers and there can be other limitations such as just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a good facility they prefer and meet with a rehabilitation counselor to find out if their insurance will handle it.
