Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the low end of the spectrum of treatment services regarding level of care, for the reason that individual will be able to keep their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of needing to be in a rehab facility while receiving treatment services. Although this may appear perfect it might not provide the much needed change of environment than a lot of people in recovery need to have a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever program they want without the limitations from health insurers that so many men and women face. In addition, rehab programs will frequently offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation programs will take Medicaid when the individual is unable to self pay or present some other kind of private health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of facilities, and in this case individuals may wish to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they are able to to pay for a more quality treatment program which will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential drug rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at drug rehabilitation programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the program is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in establishing the individual's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a choice. If someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they can consult their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only in the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some type of drug and alcohol rehab service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab facilities. Individuals could have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehab facility that is within their network of providers and there can be other limitations for example how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can pick a quality center they prefer and consult with a rehabilitation counselor to ascertain if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain substance abuse rehab solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers as well as partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There can be some restrictions concerning the length of time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug treatment is permitted, and every one of these questions will be answered prior to starting treatment so that it's clear just how long and individual can stay in the rehabilitation program of choice.
