Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of treatment solutions in terms of level of care, because the individual can maintain their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of needing to stay in a rehab center while receiving treatment services. While this may appear perfect it may not provide the required change of environment than many individuals in rehabilitation have to have to experience a productive rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired are often predisposed to alcoholism and substance abuse due to the challenges that their impairment impose on them. While detection of this problem is often difficult among the hearing impaired, you will find ASL as well as other assistance services designed for them when substance abuse treatment is required. Apart from ASL, such services can include assistive listening tools and captioned video materials to ensure that deaf and hearing impaired individuals are obtaining the help they need in drug rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't cover the entire cost of rehabilitation or will only pay for some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a much more leverage due to the fact they can choose whichever center they want without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals encounter. In addition, treatment centers will frequently provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Certain rehab programs accept Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present any other kind of private medical insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehab inside a limited amount of centers, and in this case individuals might want to investigate the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to pay for a more quality rehab program that will get better results, like a long-term residential alcohol and drug treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek rehab at drug rehab facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in establishing the person's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment are not an option. When someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might be eligible for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office in their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans generally cover some kind of drug and alcohol rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation centers. Individuals could have to participate in a drug rehabilitation facility that's within their network of providers and there might be other limitations such as the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a quality center they prefer and consult with a rehabilitation counselor to ascertain if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular drug abuse rehab solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient centers as well as partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some limitations about how much time a stay in inpatient drug rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions will be answered before you start rehab so that it is clear the length of time and individual can stay in the rehabilitation center of preference.
