Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of treatment or will only cover some of it. In these situations, it may appear like a drawback but individuals really have a much more leverage due to the fact they can choose whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many people encounter. Likewise, rehab facilities will usually provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Some treatment programs will take Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present some other form of private health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of facilities, and in cases like this individuals may wish to explore the self pay alternative and come up with up any resources they're able to to pay for a more quality treatment facility which will produce better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation center.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment are not an option. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might qualify for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only in the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical health insurance plans typically cover some sort of drug and alcohol rehab service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug treatment facilities. Individuals could possibly have to participate in a drug and alcohol rehab program which is inside their network of providers and there might be other limitations including just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent program they prefer and meet with a rehabilitation specialist to determine if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain substance abuse treatment solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs as well as partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There can be some limitations concerning how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is permitted, and all of these questions will be answered before you start rehab so that it's clear just how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation center of choice.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale is a payment assistance option available from numerous drug rehab facilities to help help individuals pay for rehabilitation where this might not have been possible originally. For instance, one client's price for rehabilitation could be different and somebody else whose finances are better which makes them more prepared to pay the full price of rehabilitation. Registrars take into consideration additional circumstances aside from income including number of dependents to determine the final cost using the sliding scale.
