Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation facilities will take Medicaid if the individual cannot self pay or present any other kind of private health insurance. Medicaid might pay for outpatient and short-term rehab inside a limited amount of centers, and in such cases individuals may want to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they're able to to cover a more quality rehab center which will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab facility.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. When someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could qualify for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but typically only within the state which offers the insurance.
