Outpatient

Outpatient solutions are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehabilitation solutions with regards to level of care, for the reason that individual can maintain their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of needing to remain in a treatment facility while receiving rehab services. While this may seem perfect it may not provide the much needed change of surroundings than many individuals in rehab have to have to experience a successful rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but people actually have a great deal of leverage due to the fact they can decide on whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many individuals encounter. In addition, treatment programs will usually provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some rehabilitation centers accept Medicaid in the event the individual is unable to self pay or present any other kind of private health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term treatment within a limited amount of programs, and in such cases individuals may want to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to cover a more quality rehab center that will get better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol rehab programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in establishing the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being the same as any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. If someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they can seek advice from their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but usually only in the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some kind of alcohol and drug rehab service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential drug treatment facilities. Individuals could possibly have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehab center that is inside their network of providers and there can be other limitations including just how long their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a quality program they prefer and meet with a rehab specialist to ascertain if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the price of certain substance abuse treatment services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are covered by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare consultant. There might be some restrictions regarding how much time a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehab is allowed, and every one of these questions can be answered before you begin rehab so that it is clear just how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation center of choice.
