You'll find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehabilitation services regarding intensity of care, because the individual is able to keep their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of having to stay in a rehab facility while receiving rehabilitation services. Even if this might seem ideal it may not provide the required change of atmosphere than lots of people in recovery need to have a successful rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be predisposed to alcoholism and drug and alcohol use due to the problems their impairment impose on them. While detection of the issue is often difficult among the hearing impaired, there are ASL and also other assistance services readily available for them when substance abuse rehabilitation is necessary. Other than ASL, such services might include assistive listening tools and captioned video resources so that deaf and hearing impaired folks are getting the support they need in drug and alcohol treatment.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when a person's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for some of it. In these situations, it may seem like a drawback but people actually have a great deal of leverage simply because they can choose whichever facility they would like without the restrictions from health insurers that so many men and women face. In addition, treatment facilities will usually offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain rehab programs will take Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present any other type of private health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation inside a limited amount of facilities, and in cases like this individuals may choose to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they can to cover a more quality treatment center that will produce better results, like a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehab center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug rehab centers which provide either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with setting up the person's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans typically cover some kind of alcohol and drug rehabilitation service which range from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities. Individuals may have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center that's inside their network of providers and there might be other limitations such as just how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can select a good center they like and consult with a rehabilitation counselor to determine if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain drug abuse rehabilitation services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient centers as well as partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some limitations regarding the length of time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation is permitted, and all of these questions will be answered before you start treatment so that it's clear the length of time and individual can remain in the rehab center of preference.
