Drug Addiction Facts

  • Anywhere from 25-50 percent of daily marijuana users will develop dependence to the drug.
  • Because prescription stimulants suppress appetite, increase wakefulness, focus and attention, they are often abused for weight loss and for performance enhancement in sports.
  • Patients who require drug/alcohol detox services due to concerns about withdrawal also benefit from inpatient rehab programs, as detoxification services can be included as a part of inpatient treatment programs.

Spanish

Not all drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities possess the staff or resources to cater to the requirements of Spanish speaking clientele, but fortunately there are more and more centers that are able to do so because the necessity for Spanish services is higher than any other time. Counselling, study data and stuff like that are now frequently obtainable in Spanish in both short and long terms programs which deliver inpatient or residential rehab and outpatient Spanish rehab is available too nationwide.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance won't pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only pay for part of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals actually have a great deal of leverage simply because they can decide on whichever facility they want without the limitations from health insurers that so many individuals encounter. In addition, rehab programs will frequently offer payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehab programs will take Medicaid if the individual is unable to self pay or present another type of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of centers, and in this case individuals may want to explore the self pay option and drum up any resources they can to pay for a more quality treatment center that will get better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive treatment at drug and alcohol rehab programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must assist in setting up the person's rehab strategy. Inpatient solutions are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being just like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug and alcohol rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment are not an option. If a person does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could qualify for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office in their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but usually only inside the state which provides the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some form of drug rehab service which range from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Individuals might have to participate in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility that's in their network of providers and there can be other limitations such as how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can select a good program they prefer and meet with a rehab counselor to determine if their insurance will take care of it.
