Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab services in terms of intensity of care, since the individual will be able to preserve their lifestyle in several ways with no commitment of needing to stay in a rehabilitation facility while undergoing rehab services. Even though this may seem perfect it will not provide the much needed change of environment than lots of people in rehabilitation require to experience a productive rehab.

ASL or Other Assistance for Hearing Impaired

The hearing impaired can often be prone to alcoholism and drug abuse because of the challenges their impairment impose on them. While discovery of this issue can often be hard among the hearing impaired, you'll find ASL and also other assistance services intended for them when drug abuse treatment is needed. Other than ASL, such services can sometimes include assistive listening equipment and captioned video materials so that deaf and hearing impaired people are getting the help they need in alcohol and drug rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may appear like a drawback but people really have a much more leverage simply because they can decide on whichever program they would like without the limitations from health insurance providers that so many people encounter. Likewise, treatment facilities will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Certain rehabilitation centers accept Medicaid in the event the individual is not able to self pay or present some other kind of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term treatment within a limited amount of programs, and in such cases individuals might want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to fund a more quality treatment center that will get better results, like a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation center.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at drug and alcohol treatment programs which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must aid in establishing the individual's treatment strategy. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being just like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they could be eligible for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only in the state which offers the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans typically cover some form of drug and alcohol treatment service ranging from outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment programs. Individuals may have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program that is inside their network of providers and there might be other restrictions for example the amount of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can pick an excellent center they like and speak with a rehabilitation counselor to find out if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the costs of particular substance abuse rehabilitation services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There could be some restrictions concerning the length of time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug treatment is allowed, and all of these questions will be answered before beginning rehab so that it is clear how much time and individual can stay in the treatment center of choice.
