Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of rehabilitation services with regards to level of care, because the individual is able to preserve their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of needing to remain in a treatment facility while undergoing rehabilitation services. Although this might appear perfect it will not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than lots of people in rehab need to experience a productive rehabilitation.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance isn't going to pay for the entire cost of rehab or will only cover some of it. In these situations, it may seem like a drawback but individuals in fact have a much more leverage due to the fact they can decide on whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurance companies that so many men and women face. Likewise, rehabilitation facilities will often provide payment assistance for people whose only option is self payment to help them get into treatment.

Medicaid

Some treatment centers accept Medicaid when the individual is unable to self pay or present another form of private health insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of programs, and in this instance individuals may want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality rehab facility which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at alcohol and drug rehab centers which deliver either inpatient or outpatient treatment if the program is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must assist in setting up the individual's rehabilitation plan. Inpatient services are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient rehab being paid for through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of drug rehab if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a choice. When someone doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might be eligible for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then apply. Most state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient treatment, but generally only in the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private medical insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug rehabilitation service ranging from outpatient rehabilitation to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs. Individuals could have to take part in a drug treatment program that is in their network of providers and there can be other limitations for example how long their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can pick a good facility they like and consult with a rehabilitation specialist to determine if their insurance will handle it.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale can be a payment assistance possibility available from a variety of alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs to help help clients afford treatment where this may not have been possible initially. For instance, one client's fee for rehabilitation may be different and lower than another person whose finances are better making them better able to spend the money for full expense of rehabilitation. Registrars consider additional circumstances apart from income including number of dependents to ascertain the ultimate cost and using the sliding scale.
