Substance Abuse Treatment Services

Substance abuse treatment services can be obtained in many different settings with different rehab lengths and plans to accommodate the varying demands of clients with any type of and amount of addiction. With both short and long term and both inpatient and residential programs now being paid by many insurance plans, there is no need to put off getting substance abuse treatment services for anybody who needs it.

Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of treatment services in terms of level of care, for the reason that individual can maintain their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of needing to remain in a rehabilitation center while undergoing rehabilitation services. Even though this may seem ideal it will not provide the much needed change of environment than many individuals in treatment have to have to experience a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover part of it. In these situations, it may appear like a disadvantage but individuals in fact have a much more leverage because they can decide on whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurers that so many individuals encounter. In addition, rehabilitation facilities will often provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehabilitation.

Medicaid

Certain treatment programs accept Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present any other type of private health care insurance. Medicaid may only cover outpatient and short-term rehab in a limited amount of centers, and in cases like this individuals may want to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they can to cover a more quality rehabilitation program that will produce better results, such as a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can seek treatment at drug and alcohol rehab facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation if the facility is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help out with establishing the individual's rehab plan. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the costs of drug treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not an option. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know if they might qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office within their area to ascertain if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but usually only in the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health care insurance plans generally cover some kind of drug and alcohol rehabilitation service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug rehab facilities. Individuals may have to take part in an alcohol and drug treatment facility which is within their network of providers and there can be other restrictions for example the amount of time their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can select an excellent program they like and consult with a treatment specialist to find out if their insurance will handle it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expenses of particular substance abuse rehab solutions. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient centers as well as partial hospitalization are all paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization and in that case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There may be some limitations regarding how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol treatment is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered prior to starting rehab so that it is clear how much time and individual can remain in the rehab center of preference.
