Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the bottom end of the spectrum of treatment services in terms of intensity of care, because the individual is able to maintain their lifestyle in lots of ways without the commitment of needing to stay in a treatment center while receiving rehabilitation services. Even though this may seem perfect it may not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than a lot of people in treatment require to experience a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when someone's insurance won't cover the entire cost of treatment or will only cover part of it. In these situations, it may seem like a drawback but people actually have a great deal of leverage simply because they can choose whichever program they would like without the restrictions from health insurance providers that so many men and women encounter. In addition, rehabilitation programs will usually provide payment assistance for people whose only choice is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehab programs will take Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present some other form of private health insurance. Medicaid may only pay for outpatient and short-term treatment in a limited amount of facilities, and in such cases individuals may wish to explore the self pay alternative and drum up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality treatment facility which will get better results, say for example a long-term residential drug treatment program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive treatment at drug and alcohol rehab facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the center is in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must help in setting up the person's treatment strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being just like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being paid for through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol treatment if other kinds of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. When someone doesn't have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they might be eligible for state insurance, they should check with their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only within the state which offers the insurance plan.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some sort of drug treatment service including outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential drug treatment centers. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug and alcohol rehab center which is in their network of providers and there could be other limitations including just how long their stay in rehabilitation is covered. Individuals can select an excellent program they prefer and consult with a rehabilitation counselor to ascertain if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance which includes VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain drug abuse rehab solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient facilities as well as partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There might be some limitations concerning the length of time a stay in inpatient alcohol and drug rehab is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered before you begin rehab so that it's clear how long and individual can remain in the rehab program of preference.
