Outpatient

Outpatient services are on the lower end of the spectrum of rehab solutions regarding intensity of care, as the individual is able to maintain their lifestyle in many ways with no commitment of needing to remain in a rehab center while undergoing treatment services. While this might appear ideal it will not provide the much needed change of atmosphere than a lot of people in rehab need to experience a productive rehab.

Self Payment

Self Payment is necessary when someone's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehab or will only pay for some of it. In these instances, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals actually have a great deal of leverage simply because they can decide on whichever facility they would like without the limitations from health insurers that so many men and women encounter. In addition, rehabilitation facilities will often offer payment assistance for individuals whose only option is self payment to enable them to get into rehab.

Medicaid

Certain rehab facilities accept Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present any other type of private health insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehab within a limited amount of centers, and in cases like this individuals might want to explore the self pay option and come up with up any resources they are able to to fund a more quality treatment facility that will get better results, say for example a long-term residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation program.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehabilitation at alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs which deliver either inpatient or outpatient rehab if the center is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the consent of their Medicare appointed doctor, who must help in establishing the person's treatment plan. Inpatient solutions are provided through Medicare Part A, with up front costs being exactly like any other kind of hospital stay, and outpatient treatment being covered through Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of alcohol and drug treatment if other forms of insurance or self payment aren't a possibility. When someone has no private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may qualify for state insurance, they should talk with their Social Services office in their area to determine if they are and then apply. The majority of state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation, but typically only inside the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some kind of alcohol and drug rehab service which range from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facilities. Individuals could possibly have to take part in a drug rehab program that's inside their network of providers and there might be other restrictions like the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can select a quality facility they like and meet with a treatment specialist to determine if their insurance will take care of it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the costs of certain substance abuse treatment services. Detoxification services, outpatient and inpatient centers along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can liaise with their VA or Tricare representative. There can be some restrictions about just how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol treatment is allowed, and all of these questions can be answered before beginning rehabilitation so that it is clear how long and individual can stay in the rehab program of choice.

Sliding Fee Scale

A sliding fee scale is a payment assistance possibility made available from a variety of drug treatment programs to help help individuals pay for rehab where this may not have been doable initially. As an example, one client's fee for rehab could be different and lower than somebody else whose financial situation is better making them more prepared to spend the money for full price of treatment. Registrars consider variables besides income including number of dependents to determine the ultimate cost using the sliding scale.
