Hospital Inpatient

Hospital inpatient services are accessible to anybody who has to be safely managed through detox services when intensely addicted to drugs, or who requires a better spectrum of care such as someone who is dealing with a dual diagnosis and also needs mental health solutions as part of their rehabilitation process. You will find both short-term and long-term hospital inpatient services available.

Self Payment

Self Payment is required when a person's insurance isn't going to cover the total cost of rehabilitation or will only cover part of it. In these cases, it may seem like a disadvantage but individuals actually have a much more leverage because they can choose whichever center they would like without the limitations from health insurers that so many men and women encounter. In addition, treatment programs will frequently provide payment assistance for individuals whose only choice is self payment to help them get into rehab.

Medicaid

Some rehab programs accept Medicaid when the individual cannot self pay or present another form of private medical insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehabilitation in a limited amount of programs, and in this case individuals may wish to investigate the self pay option and drum up any resources they are able to to cover a more quality rehab program that will get better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment facility.

Medicare

Medicare recipients can receive rehab at drug rehab facilities which provide either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation when the facility is included in the network of Medicare-participating providers and with the authorization of their Medicare appointed physician, who must aid in establishing the person's rehabilitation strategy. Inpatient services are covered through Medicare Part A, with out of pocket costs being similar to any other type of hospital stay, and outpatient rehabilitation being covered through Medicare Medicare Part B.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid can be used to cover the expense of drug and alcohol rehab if other kinds of insurance or self payment aren't an option. If a person doesn't have private insurance and doesn't yet know if they could qualify for state insurance, they can check with their Social Services office within their area to determine if they are and then fill out an application. Most state financed insurance will take care of both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only in the state which provides the insurance.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which plan you are covered by, all private health insurance plans typically cover some type of drug and alcohol rehabilitation service including outpatient treatment to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment facilities. Individuals may have to take part in an alcohol and drug treatment facility that is inside their network of providers and there can be other restrictions including the length of time their stay in treatment is covered. Individuals can choose a quality facility they like and meet with a rehabilitation specialist to ascertain if their insurance covers it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance such as VA and Tricare does cover the expense of particular drug abuse rehab services. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs and also partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may require pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare representative. There may be some limitations concerning how much time a stay in inpatient drug treatment is permitted, and all of these questions will be answered before you start treatment so that it's clear just how long and individual can remain in the rehabilitation program of preference.
