Drug Addiction Facts

  • The disadvantage of an inpatient rehab program is, obviously that clients have to live at the center rather than at home. Although this can be helpful in terms of getting support, patients usually need to take a leave of absence from their jobs and will only see their families on designated visiting days while they are in rehab.
  • High levels of Ecstasy in the blood stream can increase the risk of seizures and the ability of the heart to maintain its normal rhythms.
  • Ecstasy users can become dehydrated through vigorous activity in a hot environment, and experience dangerous overheating coupled with the fact that Ecstasy can interfere with the body's ability to regulate its temperature. This can cause a dangerous condition called hyperthermia.

Medicaid

Some treatment facilities accept Medicaid when the individual is not able to self pay or present some other type of private medical insurance. Medicaid might cover outpatient and short-term rehab inside a limited amount of programs, and in such cases individuals might want to investigate the self pay option and come up with up any resources they're able to to fund a more quality treatment facility which will get better results, like a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehab center.

State Financed Insurance (Other Than Medicaid)

State financed insurance other than Medicaid may be used to cover the costs of alcohol and drug rehabilitation if other forms of insurance or self payment are not a possibility. If someone does not have any private insurance and doesn't yet know whether they may be eligible for state insurance, they should consult their Social Services office within their area to figure out if they are and then fill out an application. The majority of state financed insurance will handle both outpatient and inpatient rehab, but generally only within the state which provides the insurance coverage.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on which program you are covered by, all private health insurance plans generally cover some type of alcohol and drug rehabilitation service which range from outpatient rehab to inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab centers. Individuals might have to take part in an alcohol and drug rehab facility which is within their network of providers and there may be other limitations for example the amount of time their stay in rehab is covered. Individuals can choose an excellent center they prefer and consult with a treatment counselor to determine if their insurance will cover it.

Military Insurance (E.G., Va, Tricare)

Military insurance including VA and Tricare does cover the expense of certain substance abuse rehabilitation solutions. Detox services, outpatient and inpatient programs along with partial hospitalization are paid for by military insurance, although military members may need pre-authorization in which case they can speak with their VA or Tricare consultant. There can be some limitations regarding how long a stay in inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation is permitted, and all of these questions will be answered before you start treatment so that it is clear how much time and individual can remain in the treatment facility of choice.
